I'm not going to lie it has been enjoyable only editing the videos and not scribing our journey. But alas, Sam has decided to take a go with the creative portion of her brain and edit a little diddy for y'all.

As you may notice, we've skipped ahead about five days in our journeys. This is due to Sam finishing her video masterpiece and begging profusely to share it with the world. It had only been completed 10 minutes and I saw that look in her eyes, I caved. Don't be alarmed as in the next post we will be returning to Oregon with plenty more breathtaking scenery, silly moments and of course, our beautiful faces.

Northern California and Diamond Lake & Crater Lake, OR

Day 4: Monday, June 8, 2015

We slept in pretty late before packing up and hitting the road. We had a long day ahead of us. The valley just north of San Francisco was a scorching 109 degrees that day. We stopped for gas in the middle of nowhere and checked the oil level on the car because something was smelling weird and my cruise control was acting a little possessed. Having never checked oil on a car before, we just pulled out the first dipstick we found and there was some sort of fluid on it, so we assumed it was all good… several days later we realized that was not the oil dipstick but rather the radiator fluid (we’ll get to that later). Who’re the real dipsticks here??? Hahaha.

California’s Coast

Day 1: Friday, June 5, 2015

On our last night in Los Angeles we had a vehicle mishap involving a dislodged brake caliper. We had a total freak-out but it was luckily a cheap fix. That, along with moving and packing pains made for a pretty stressful last couple of days leading up to our departure. But, after months of “planning” (I use that term loosely because I don’t really believe in plans) we finally hit the road!

Jackets in July

Next stop was a little-known town in western Massachusetts called Easthampton. It’s downtown blocks were quaint yet trendy. I’d actually been there years prior for a July 4th river float but few landmarks stood out as much of the area is wooded. We went to reunite with my gal pal from LA, Alexis. We stayed at her and her boyfriend’s house in a little 2nd story guest loft. We made ourselves dinner and drank some craft beers before hitting the town. Alexis works locally and seemed to know everybody so we were treated well and probably over served. No complaints there.

Trucking to Toronto

At this point we were about ½ way through the trip, schedule wise, but not distance wise. We’d been finding places we liked a lot along the way and staying an extra day or two here and there, and it was starting to add up. If we wanted to hit all the remaining planned stops we were going to have to stay on track.

Farm Funk Hoedown

We made it to Michigan around July 15th and I'd say we are making some speedy progress through this country of ours. After staying in Chicago with Sami's family we trekked over to Michigan to pop in on my Aunt Lisa. I'm excited to stay with her and see life living on a farm... basically in the middle of nowhere. I rarely get to see my mother's side of the family because we are all so spread apart but it's nice to take some time and make sure we get to catch up :)

Getting down in South Dakota

Leaving Denver we decided to head over to Chicago via South Dakota. We originally planned on shooting over through Nebraska but after a... very short brain storm, we decided to throw that plan out the window.. far ..far out the window.

We have been honored to be somewhat of ambassadors for the Reddy2Fight Foundation throughout our trip around the states. This foundation is near and dear to our hearts as the inspiration for the foundation is our very best friend, Krissy Reddy's, beautiful and bubbly son Liam. Colorado Part 1

After our last day in Jackson, WY consisting of rest and errands we were ready for the next leg of our journey and one that I personally had been very excited about for several reasons. Colorado had always been a place I wanted to explore more, as there is just SO much to do there and so many little towns and cities to discover. It was also the first stop in a place that I had originally put in the top 3 running for “Places I might move to” (following the trip). On top of all that, I would meet Alejandro, a guy I had been speaking to for many months and never had the opportunity to see face-to-face.

Wyoming Bound!

Following several nights in Glacier National Park without showers or beds, we were stoked to meet up with some of our best friends from High School who all live in a house together in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Al, Jer, Tree and Graves share a bachelor pad in the foothills of the Grand Tetons.
